Mr. Ray's TRAIN TO ROCK Academy
The goal is to inspire kids who already have the early musicianship & passion, with
a chance to rehearse together as a real band and ultimately, perform with their fellow musicians in an exciting performance
at the historic Forum Theatre in Metuchen New Jersey, at the end of the 8-week session. The instructor for this course
is veteran musician, Ray Andersen, who's known to families in the US and the UK as mr. RAY.He's currently signed to
Universal Records UK and tours there regularly. Ray was a full-time member of international Rock superstar, Meat Loaf's
band from 1998-2001, and played from Wembley Arena to Letterman, Leno and the View. As recent as December 2008, he's
shared a stage with Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. Students from 10-16 with intermediate to advanced skill levels are
welcome. All students must have private music studies for at least 8 months. There will be two age groups, to be
determined by the playing level of each student. Your child’s placement will be determined by the
level of musicianship exhibited at the audition. Please have her/him prepare one full or partial ROCK song of their
choice from the 60s/70s/80s/90s. Though we love them, please no Broadway/Show tunes for the audition. Also, your child will: IMPROVE MUSICIANSHIP, LEARN PRACTICE SKILLS, GAIN
SELF-CONFIDENCE, LEARN TEAMWORK SKILLS Tuition: $325
What
parents are saying...
I just wanted to tell you what a great job you are doing with the Train to Rock program. I'm
not sure you even realize what an extraordinary opportunity you have presented to these kids. You have unlocked
something musically in my son, Sterling. I have noticed a difference not just with his enhanced interest in playing
in general, but also his abililty to play with others. I hope you consider continuing this program. Thanks again!

The program has far exceeded any expectations I had. Mr Ray has done a great job in showcasing everyone's
individual talent. - Denise Brezik
Sterling's
feet still haven't touched the ground following the entire experience with Train to Rock, culminating in last night's
awesome performances. What a great time!
"mr. RAY . . . I
just wanted to let you know that Emma said yesterday that this is her favorite activity and that she wishes she could do it
every day! She also said that mr. RAY is so cool!!! I think the implication is -- MOM, why are you not as cool as him? But
I'm trying not to take offense. I'm just so happy that she's really enjoying this!"
I just wanted to say how much I loved Train to Rock. I went home after the
first day the bands were put together and I told my dad that I wished it would never end. I was so upset that I had to wait
another week to go back! I met some awesome people, especially Mr. Ray. He is such an inspiration to me and I will never forget
the first Train to Rock season or the many to come.
